Episode 66: How to Get Your Podcast Recommended by AI (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, & Google)

How to Get Your Podcast Recommended by AI (10 Strategies to Increase Discoverability in 2026)

Listen on Apple Podcast | Listen on Spotify | Watch on YouTube

Podcast discovery is changing in a big way.

It’s no longer just about Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or chart rankings.

More and more people are asking tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and voice assistants to recommend podcasts for them. And those tools are delivering curated results based on what they understand about your content.

Which means this:

If AI can’t understand your podcast, it can’t recommend it.

In this episode of Podcast Growth Tools, I’m breaking down 10 actionable strategies to help your podcast become more searchable, indexable, and recommendable by AI systems.

This is something I recently taught inside my mastermind, and the reaction was immediate. Because once you understand how this works, you start to realize just how big of an opportunity this is for organic growth.

Key Takeaways

  • AI is becoming a major driver of podcast discovery

  • Your podcast needs clear, structured, keyword-rich content

  • SEO and AI indexing go hand-in-hand

  • Audience language is one of your biggest advantages

If You’re Asking the Following Questions, You’re in the Right Place:

  • How do I get my podcast discovered through AI tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity?

  • Why isn’t my podcast showing up in search or recommendations?

  • How can I optimize my podcast for SEO and AI indexing?

  • Do I really need blog posts, transcripts, and keywords for my podcast?

  • What’s actually working for podcast discoverability in 2026?

Why AI Is Becoming a Major Podcast Discovery Engine

People are no longer just browsing podcast apps.

They’re asking questions like:

  • “What are the best podcasts for female entrepreneurs?”

  • “What podcast should I listen to if I want to grow my business?”

  • “What are the best marketing podcasts right now?”

And AI is answering.

That means your podcast is now competing in a much broader ecosystem. Not just podcast platforms, but the entire internet.

The opportunity here is massive. But only if your content is structured in a way AI can understand.

Because if it’s not clear, specific, and keyword-driven, your podcast simply won’t show up.

10 Ways to Optimize Your Podcast for AI Discovery

1. Use Clear, Searchable Episode Titles

Your episode titles are one of the most important signals for both AI and search engines.

Avoid vague or “clever” titles like:

  • “The Truth About Showing Up”

Instead, use clear, keyword-driven titles like:

  • “How to Grow Your Podcast Audience Without Social Media”

Ask yourself:
What would my ideal listener type into a search bar?

That’s your title.

2. Publish SEO-Rich Show Notes on Your Website

Your podcast needs a home base.

And that home base should include:

  • Blog-style show notes

  • Clear headers and structure

  • Keyword-rich content

  • Summaries and takeaways

AI tools are trained on written content. The more structured, readable text you provide, the more likely your podcast is to be indexed and recommended.

3. Include Transcripts for Every Episode

Transcripts are one of the most powerful (and underused) SEO tools for podcasters.

They:

  • Increase the amount of indexable content

  • Provide full context for AI

  • Expand your keyword footprint

Best practice:

  • Place your transcript at the bottom of your blog post

  • Use an accordion or dropdown so it doesn’t overwhelm the page

Even if listeners don’t read it, AI absolutely will.

4. Clearly Define Who Your Podcast Is For

AI doesn’t just recommend content based on popularity.

It recommends based on fit.

That means you need to be extremely clear about:

  • Who your podcast is for

  • What stage they’re in

  • What they want help with

Include this everywhere:

  • Podcast description

  • Website

  • Show notes

  • Social profiles

The more specific you are, the easier it is for AI to match your podcast with the right listener.

5. Strengthen Your Podcast Description

Your podcast description is a major signal for AI.

A strong description should include:

  • Who the podcast is for

  • What problems it solves

  • Key topics covered

  • Authority or credibility

If your description is vague or outdated, it’s time to update it.

6. Get Your Podcast Mentioned Across the Internet

AI pulls information from multiple sources.

So the more places your podcast appears, the stronger your authority becomes.

This includes:

  • Guesting on other podcasts

  • Blog features

  • Newsletter mentions

  • Social media

  • Podcast directories

Also, make sure you’ve claimed your podcast on all major platforms, not just Apple and Spotify.

7. Use Audience Language (Not Your Own)

One of the biggest mistakes podcasters make is using their own language instead of their audience’s.

Your audience isn’t speaking in polished, perfect marketing terms.

They’re saying things like:

  • “I don’t know how to grow my podcast”

  • “My podcast isn’t converting”

  • “I feel stuck with my marketing”

Those exact phrases are what AI is matching against.

The more your content mirrors their language, the more discoverable you become.

8. Repurpose Your Content Across Platforms

Repurposing helps create more entry points for discovery.

This can include:

  • Blog posts

  • YouTube videos

  • Pinterest pins

  • LinkedIn posts

  • Email newsletters

But here’s the key:

You don’t need to be everywhere.

Pick one or two platforms and go deep. Consistency and quality matter more than volume.

9. Encourage Reviews and Mentions

Reviews are becoming more valuable again, especially for AI.

Why?

Because reviews often include:

  • Keywords

  • Descriptions of your content

  • Social proof

When someone writes:
“This podcast helped me grow my email list from my podcast…”

That’s additional language AI can use to understand and recommend your show.

10. Treat Your Podcast Like a Knowledge Resource

The podcasts AI recommends most often are the ones that:

  • Answer clear questions

  • Teach structured concepts

  • Provide frameworks

  • Solve real problems

Think of your podcast as a knowledge hub.

Not just content, but a resource your audience can rely on.

    01:16.930 --> 01:18.370

    Welcome back to the show.

    01:18.530 --> 01:24.330

    Okay, I am so excited, so excited for today's topic because...

    01:24.640 --> 01:28.380

    I literally did a training about this in my mastermind yesterday and

    01:28.990 --> 01:31.290

    And the mastermind women were just like,

    01:31.840 --> 01:37.920

    off the charts, so excited about it. And I was like, okay, this is something I probably need to share publicly as well. So

    01:38.270 --> 01:41.590

    It is something that I actually don't see a lot of people talking about right now,

    01:41.590 --> 01:43.390

    but we need to be talking about.

    01:43.390 --> 01:44.590

    And it's that,

    01:44.960 --> 01:47.200

    AI is becoming such a big thing.

    01:47.430 --> 01:51.410

    major discovery engine for our podcast, which is so exciting.

    01:51.410 --> 01:57.250

    More and more people are finding podcasts through tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity,

    01:57.540 --> 02:02.400

    All of those platforms that many, many of us are using every single day, right? Even voice

    02:02.400 --> 02:07.320

    assistants. So instead of just going directly to Apple podcasts or scrolling through the charts,

    02:07.320 --> 02:11.680

    which people are still doing, don't get me wrong, but people are also starting to ask questions like,

    02:11.680 --> 02:17.260

    what is the best podcast for female entrepreneurs or what are the best podcasts for female

    02:17.260 --> 02:23.520

    entrepreneurs? What podcast should I be listening to if I want to grow my business, my online business? What

    02:23.750 --> 02:29.720

    are good marketing podcasts for online business owners. They're asking these very specific questions about

    02:29.910 --> 02:32.060

    podcast recommendations.

    02:32.350 --> 02:34.910

    And they're getting answers generated by AI.

    02:35.160 --> 02:39.050

    which means something very important for us as podcasters.

    02:39.430 --> 02:43.530

    It means that your podcast isn't just being discovered through podcast apps anymore.

    02:44.830 --> 02:46.530

    It's being discovered

    02:46.850 --> 02:53.530

    all over the internet. And the fact that AI is now recommending podcasts is such a cool freaking opportunity.

    02:54.500 --> 02:57.600

    And if AI systems can easily understand your podcast,

    02:57.990 --> 02:59.670

    they can recommend it, right?

    02:59.670 --> 03:01.530

    So that's what we need to talk about today

    03:01.530 --> 03:03.550

    because if they can't understand your podcast,

    03:03.550 --> 03:04.930

    if it's not clear...

    03:05.470 --> 03:06.470

    They can't recommend it.

    03:06.720 --> 03:12.120

    So today, I want to walk you through 10 really practical ways to make sure that your podcast

    03:12.120 --> 03:15.600

    is indexing, searchable, and recommendable by...

    03:15.810 --> 03:17.210

    all AI platforms, right?

    03:17.210 --> 03:21.070

    All of the AI platforms that we are very familiar with these days.

    03:21.790 --> 03:27.030

    So these are simple shifts that can dramatically increase the chances of your podcast showing up

    03:27.030 --> 03:30.010

    when people ask for AI recommendations, right?

    03:30.010 --> 03:34.390

    And one thing I want to say right up front is that some of these are going to take time.

    03:34.390 --> 03:38.430

    So if you really start implementing these, but you haven't in your past episodes,

    03:38.720 --> 03:45.880

    Either make a plan to go back and start to rework some of the episodes in the past or just know it's going to take a little time, right?

    03:45.880 --> 03:47.280

    We have to feed the algorithm.

    03:47.280 --> 03:48.780

    We have to feed the bot.

    03:48.780 --> 03:50.140

    We have to tell it.

    03:50.430 --> 03:52.990

    very specific things in order for it to say,

    03:53.250 --> 03:54.050

    This is amazing.

    03:54.210 --> 03:55.010

    Something I recommend.

    03:55.390 --> 03:56.250

    Okay, so let's dive in.

    03:56.250 --> 04:00.410

    The first one is to use clear, descriptive episode titles.

    04:00.930 --> 04:02.050

    If you're in my audience,

    04:02.270 --> 04:03.550

    This isn't new to you, right?

    04:03.550 --> 04:05.450

    The first place to start

    04:06.150 --> 04:06.650

    is.

    04:06.750 --> 04:07.390

    Really...

    04:07.780 --> 04:14.780

    This, and it's so underestimated by podcasters that it's so funny, but we really need to be feeding the

    04:15.010 --> 04:19.450

    The algorithm, whether it's Apple, Spotify, or AI, or Google, or anything...

    04:19.750 --> 04:20.970

    Episode titles,

    04:21.310 --> 04:25.990

    that are super, super searchable, SEO friendly,

    04:26.200 --> 04:27.010

    Keyword friendly.

    04:27.450 --> 04:28.160

    Right?

    04:28.670 --> 04:33.230

    Too many podcasters, especially in the past, I think we're starting to get away from this,

    04:33.230 --> 04:36.290

    use really creative, cutesy titles, right? But...

    04:36.890 --> 04:37.740

    That's not the way to go.

    04:37.740 --> 04:39.100

    So for example...

    04:39.300 --> 04:40.520

    One might be.

    04:40.990 --> 04:43.430

    podcast episode is The Truth About Showing Up.

    04:43.870 --> 04:44.830

    versus...

    04:45.140 --> 04:47.970

    how to grow your podcast audience without social media.

    04:48.670 --> 04:49.050

    Right.

    04:49.470 --> 04:55.250

    Very, very different explanation of what is happening in this podcast, what words I want

    04:55.250 --> 05:00.890

    to tell AI and the algorithm and the platforms that I want to be showing up for, right?

    05:00.890 --> 05:04.730

    AI systems actually rely heavily on language clarity.

    05:04.870 --> 05:07.390

    and to understand what your episode is about,

    05:07.390 --> 05:09.580

    what your podcast as a whole is about.

    05:09.580 --> 05:12.470

    So the more clearly you describe the topic,

    05:12.930 --> 05:18.070

    the easier it is for search engines and AI tools to categorize your content.

    05:18.690 --> 05:20.490

    So instead of trying to be clever,

    05:20.670 --> 05:21.550

    Be specific.

    05:22.080 --> 05:22.640

    Be searchable.

    05:23.430 --> 05:25.270

    Right? So ask yourself,

    05:25.440 --> 05:29.720

    If someone were searching for the topic of this episode, what would they type in?

    05:30.270 --> 05:31.110

    Now,

    05:31.620 --> 05:33.180

    If you're new in my world,

    05:33.670 --> 05:38.310

    This might be new to you, but if not, you know this, and this is a hill I will die on, is...

    05:38.690 --> 05:43.330

    Speak to your audience, speak to your customers, speak to your ideal listener in person.

    05:44.230 --> 05:46.970

    I mean, it can be on Zoom, but here are the words that they're saying.

    05:47.780 --> 05:49.400

    so that you can use those words

    05:49.670 --> 05:54.370

    in your podcast, in your marketing. I mean, it goes so far beyond podcast.

    05:54.690 --> 06:00.450

    When you show up using the words or really leaning into the pain points or the aspirations

    06:00.450 --> 06:05.350

    of your ideal customer, ideal listener, that's when you connect well with AI because you

    06:05.630 --> 06:09.430

    Those are the things that AI knows about your ideal listener, about your ideal customer.

    06:09.430 --> 06:11.590

    So give them what they want.

    06:11.590 --> 06:17.850

    Give AI what it's looking for by using really strong, clear language, titles, all of that.

    06:18.590 --> 06:19.450

    Number two.

    06:20.260 --> 06:23.040

    Publish SEO-rich show notes on your website.

    06:23.520 --> 06:28.380

    So the second strategy is definitely something I also talk about a lot, but it's becoming

    06:28.380 --> 06:29.300

    more and more important.

    06:30.210 --> 06:30.830

    People...

    06:31.140 --> 06:35.520

    For a while there, we're asking, should I be doing blog posts that reiterate what I

    06:35.520 --> 06:36.900

    talk about in my podcast?

    06:37.540 --> 06:41.080

    And it was like, I've always been a huge advocate of yes.

    06:41.080 --> 06:44.260

    Yes, SEO, sure, it can be a long game, but...

    06:44.800 --> 06:49.040

    It's there and it's working and it's worth the effort, right?

    06:49.510 --> 06:54.430

    Publishing SEO-rich show notes on your website is such a good way to

    06:54.880 --> 06:56.300

    Get your podcast episode.

    06:56.870 --> 06:57.730

    indexed,

    06:58.180 --> 07:00.860

    Tell the AI tools this is what

    07:01.410 --> 07:03.290

    I am searching for and also

    07:03.490 --> 07:08.150

    Use keywords, which we're going to talk about in a second, but use keywords often.

    07:08.450 --> 07:11.250

    to start to train the algorithm that you are the expert in that.

    07:11.250 --> 07:13.410

    That is what you should be showing up for, right?

    07:13.790 --> 07:18.790

    So if you are in my programs, if you have ever worked with me one-on-one, if you bought

    07:18.790 --> 07:20.730

    my podcast growth toolkit...

    07:21.030 --> 07:22.470

    you actually got

    07:22.910 --> 07:23.930

    an SEO product,

    07:24.130 --> 07:25.450

    blog style.

    07:25.920 --> 07:32.800

    template that you can take your podcast, take your show notes and turn it into a blog post using this template.

    07:32.990 --> 07:37.630

    that is proven to work, great for SEO, right? So you don't want to just

    07:38.340 --> 07:39.920

    take your transcript, which we're gonna talk about

    07:39.920 --> 07:41.920

    in a second, and put it on your blog.

    07:41.920 --> 07:44.800

    I highly recommend you turn it into a readable,

    07:44.800 --> 07:47.720

    digestible, user-friendly blog post, right?

    07:47.720 --> 07:51.020

    So instead of just having like the audio file to index,

    07:51.020 --> 07:54.340

    now we can give them an episode summary,

    07:54.340 --> 07:56.180

    maybe some key talking points,

    07:56.350 --> 08:02.470

    timestamps, keywords, overall topic structures, a breakdown of what you talk about, right?

    08:02.470 --> 08:07.550

    And more of like a conversational blog style post versus just...

    08:07.810 --> 08:08.290

    you know,

    08:09.150 --> 08:11.570

    All of the transcript in one spot.

    08:12.030 --> 08:16.470

    which again, I'm going to talk about because there is a place for that, but I like to do this

    08:17.060 --> 08:20.220

    At the top of, and I'm going to explain kind of the structure here, but...

    08:20.420 --> 08:26.920

    So AI models, we know are trained on text across the web, right? So when your podcast exists,

    08:27.200 --> 08:28.780

    as a detailed blog post,

    08:28.990 --> 08:30.830

    that's feeding into the algorithm,

    08:30.830 --> 08:33.250

    it's feeding into SEO, into keywords,

    08:33.250 --> 08:35.130

    it becomes far more likely to show up

    08:35.130 --> 08:36.300

    in recommendations, right?

    08:36.510 --> 08:41.790

    So think of your website kind of as a home base where your podcast becomes discoverable.

    08:41.790 --> 08:43.250

    It like spits it out to the internet.

    08:43.250 --> 08:49.610

    Okay, so let's talk about number three, which is to include transcripts into every podcast.

    08:50.020 --> 08:50.580

    episode.

    08:51.200 --> 08:51.410

    No.

    08:51.800 --> 08:55.270

    I want to break this down for you because you're going, where am I going to put the transcript?

    08:55.270 --> 08:56.110

    Okay.

    08:56.110 --> 08:56.730

    So...

    08:57.570 --> 09:03.970

    Like I said, I love to have this blog style SEO show notes created where it breaks it

    09:03.970 --> 09:06.570

    down into a little bit more digestible, readable content.

    09:06.910 --> 09:08.010

    you know, content.

    09:08.290 --> 09:12.510

    So if this is something you want to see in action, you can check it out on my YouTube

    09:12.510 --> 09:12.990

    videos.

    09:12.990 --> 09:16.830

    So go check me out on YouTube and you can watch the video on here and I'll show you

    09:16.830 --> 09:18.490

    what I'm talking, what I'm about to talk about.

    09:18.490 --> 09:23.710

    Like my favorite place to put the transcript within your blog style show notes or if

    09:23.940 --> 09:29.960

    You can also just go to my website and go to my blog, my podcast, and read through those

    09:29.960 --> 09:30.880

    blog style show notes.

    09:30.880 --> 09:35.100

    And at the very bottom, right, at the very bottom, you are going to see...

    09:35.420 --> 09:37.370

    a little section that says

    09:37.890 --> 09:38.890

    episode transcript,

    09:39.140 --> 09:40.040

    Click to read.

    09:40.640 --> 09:40.910

    Now,

    09:41.280 --> 09:42.220

    I basically have

    09:42.590 --> 09:44.160

    inputted the entire transcript,

    09:44.900 --> 09:46.240

    And then I fold it up like

    09:46.420 --> 09:50.730

    I'm on Squarespace. It allows me to almost like fold it up. I don't know if that's the right word

    09:50.730 --> 09:55.450

    or it's called like an accordion, I guess, where somebody who's reading it can read through the

    09:55.450 --> 09:59.510

    blog. Then they can see that the transcript's there. They can click on the, you know, the drop

    09:59.510 --> 10:03.530

    down, the plus menu and the entire transcript will be there. So,

    10:03.970 --> 10:05.150

    Will most people do this?

    10:05.300 --> 10:06.750

    Probably not, but do you know who will?

    10:06.750 --> 10:07.470

    AI.

    10:08.000 --> 10:28.140

    Right? SEO, the bots are going to love it. So you might as well include the transcript if you're going to the effort to write a blog. This is almost the easiest part of the blog, right? So that's how I really like to do it. Because transcripts allow AI systems to understand the full, full context of your episode. Not that blog style show notes don't do that.

    10:28.830 --> 10:31.650

    Actually giving them the conversation piece can be so helpful.

    10:31.650 --> 10:34.590

    Plus, it's going to give them even more words, right?

    10:35.070 --> 10:38.110

    All of that becomes part of the indexed content.

    10:38.630 --> 10:41.630

    Transcripts dramatically increase the surface area,

    10:42.500 --> 10:43.910

    of your podcast, a crotch...

    10:44.190 --> 10:48.990

    search, AI tools, truly, it's such a wonderful tool to use.

    10:48.990 --> 10:52.970

    So if you have a website, if you are posting your show notes as a blog,

    10:53.220 --> 10:54.900

    Just add the transcripts at the very bottom.

    10:54.900 --> 11:00.100

    Again, roll them up, do a cordy and whatever they call it on your specific website website.

    11:00.580 --> 11:04.100

    But it's such a great way to help you get indexed on SEO.

    11:04.770 --> 11:05.770

    Okay, so...

    11:05.990 --> 11:07.130

    Strategy number four.

    11:07.590 --> 11:11.110

    Add a who is this podcast section for.

    11:11.650 --> 11:14.150

    Everywhere, everywhere you possibly can.

    11:14.310 --> 11:16.170

    The reason we're doing this is because

    11:16.350 --> 11:21.150

    AI systems recommend content mostly based on fit,

    11:21.380 --> 11:28.220

    fit for the user that they are serving, not just on popularity. Popularity does play a part into it more so

    11:28.480 --> 11:32.640

    authority than popularity, but we want to make sure it's, again,

    11:32.870 --> 11:34.990

    so clear who this podcast is for.

    11:34.990 --> 11:43.350

    That is why I teach my students and you guys to add a tagline that's very clear so somebody can

    11:43.750 --> 11:45.430

    be looking on podcast AI,

    11:45.430 --> 11:48.570

    can be, you know, searching Apple or whatever it might be,

    11:48.960 --> 11:53.260

    And it sees, oh, this podcast is specifically for female entrepreneurs who have a podcast

    11:53.260 --> 11:55.880

    who are looking to monetize it or whatever it might be, right?

    11:56.420 --> 12:01.960

    So we want to use this exact description, this exact language in your podcast description.

    12:03.010 --> 12:03.850

    on your website.

    12:04.580 --> 12:11.220

    anything you have, right? If it's your YouTube about section or if it's on TikTok or Instagram,

    12:11.490 --> 12:12.110

    Show notes.

    12:12.710 --> 12:18.650

    All of those places, it is so important for you to have such a clear, clear description

    12:18.650 --> 12:20.490

    about who this podcast is for.

    12:20.490 --> 12:24.910

    This is a big reason why I see podcasts struggling to grow.

    12:24.910 --> 12:26.610

    They're not niche enough.

    12:26.610 --> 12:30.810

    And I have to admit, if you are a smaller podcast looking to grow, the more niche you

    12:30.810 --> 12:33.590

    can be right away, the quicker you will grow, truly.

    12:33.590 --> 12:33.950

    Truly.

    12:34.270 --> 12:34.770

    Why?

    12:35.270 --> 12:35.770

    Because,

    12:36.070 --> 12:42.070

    it is so easy for you to organically show up for the ideal listener. And you can move away

    12:42.070 --> 12:45.870

    from that and go more broad the bigger you get and the more you grow. But,

    12:46.340 --> 12:50.960

    I'm not going to go down that road, but you hear what I'm saying? That is really why we can do it,

    12:50.960 --> 12:55.560

    right? Because if there's so many, and I see this a lot with like podcasters who

    12:55.560 --> 12:59.980

    are in the mindset space. It's like, well, I just want to serve everybody and help them with

    12:59.980 --> 13:02.780

    their mindset and their spirituality and this and that. And it's like,

    13:03.300 --> 13:04.680

    We've got to get more specific.

    13:04.930 --> 13:06.550

    like, I think of almost 30, like,

    13:07.490 --> 13:10.110

    They serve women between

    13:10.310 --> 13:15.010

    probably like 28 and into their 40s, maybe 50s,

    13:15.010 --> 13:16.810

    who are going through a life transformation.

    13:16.810 --> 13:18.310

    And they do talk about spirituality,

    13:18.310 --> 13:21.230

    but it is a very specific niche, right?

    13:21.950 --> 13:23.450

    I even get it on this.

    13:23.450 --> 13:26.070

    Maybe you're listening to this and you're not a female entrepreneur,

    13:26.070 --> 13:28.110

    but you listen because you know there's good content here.

    13:28.110 --> 13:31.010

    I get messages from male podcasters who say,

    13:31.010 --> 13:34.050

    I wish you would include the males a little bit and listen.

    13:34.980 --> 13:39.820

    At the end of the day, my content is going to serve anyone and everyone, but I know that growth is...

    13:40.230 --> 13:45.350

    comes when I'm really specific. And the more that I can be more specific with my keywords and things

    13:45.350 --> 13:49.030

    like that, the better it's going to be for me and my podcast as a whole.

    13:49.310 --> 13:54.850

    But again, that doesn't mean that guys can't check out my podcast and get so much meds

    13:54.850 --> 13:55.690

    value from it, right?

    13:56.290 --> 13:57.670

    Okay, number five.

    13:57.920 --> 14:00.560

    Right. Speaking of descriptions, we talked about this in the last one.

    14:00.560 --> 14:02.440

    Right. Strong podcast descriptions.

    14:02.440 --> 14:06.280

    Your podcast description is a huge...

    14:06.500 --> 14:08.160

    Super important signal, right?

    14:08.160 --> 14:12.940

    Many shows have a really vague description, probably put it together right when they started,

    14:12.940 --> 14:13.960

    never touched it.

    14:13.960 --> 14:19.020

    And it doesn't really explain what the podcast is about, who it's for, the questions that

    14:19.020 --> 14:19.840

    it might be answering.

    14:20.670 --> 14:21.990

    using the keywords.

    14:22.820 --> 14:28.720

    But here's the thing, AI, that is part of the puzzle, right? AI relies on these descriptions

    14:28.720 --> 14:34.100

    to understand your show's category, your audience, your expertise, the topics, the keywords, all of

    14:34.100 --> 14:35.520

    that. So...

    14:35.810 --> 14:38.670

    Instead of having it super short, you need to expand it.

    14:38.670 --> 14:44.850

    You need to be really focused on having in your description who the podcast is for, what

    14:44.850 --> 14:45.850

    the problem is.

    14:45.890 --> 14:49.310

    what problems it solves, what topics you cover.

    14:49.310 --> 14:52.230

    And I love it if you can share something about yourself

    14:52.230 --> 14:53.950

    that gives you a little authority, right?

    14:54.430 --> 15:00.810

    So again, if you're in my programs, you get a wonderful podcast description template that

    15:00.810 --> 15:01.390

    you can use.

    15:01.390 --> 15:04.750

    And it's really geared to telling AI people.

    15:05.540 --> 15:05.760

    Hey.

    15:06.340 --> 15:07.840

    I'm your person for this.

    15:08.230 --> 15:12.550

    right? So be sure you spend a little bit of time updating your description, get it really good.

    15:12.550 --> 15:18.310

    Talk about, again, basically just like describe what you would want to, then go into who you are

    15:18.310 --> 15:24.890

    authority-wise, then talk about who it's for, then talk about what questions, if your ideal listener is asking, if, you know,

    15:25.120 --> 15:29.060

    what questions are they asking, they're in the right place, and some of your topics using your

    15:29.060 --> 15:31.260

    keywords, and boom, you'll have a great description.

    15:31.970 --> 15:35.630

    All right, number six, get your podcast mentioned across the internet.

    15:35.630 --> 15:40.130

    The next strategy is definitely powerful, but often honestly overlooked.

    15:40.710 --> 15:43.970

    So AI systems pull information from across the web.

    15:43.970 --> 15:45.070

    We know this, right?

    15:45.070 --> 15:48.570

    So when your podcast is mentioned on other websites...

    15:48.770 --> 15:51.610

    Other platforms, it strengthens its presence

    15:51.840 --> 15:54.140

    in the broader information ecosystem.

    15:54.310 --> 15:55.410

    Right? So...

    15:55.620 --> 15:57.100

    You may be wondering, like, what is that?

    15:57.100 --> 16:01.460

    This could be you guesting on somebody else's podcast, right?

    16:01.460 --> 16:07.980

    A blog feature with you in it, a newsletter mention, podcast directories, which I want

    16:07.980 --> 16:12.880

    to talk about, social media posts, interviews, like wherever you can show up, collaborate,

    16:12.880 --> 16:13.500

    serve.

    16:14.340 --> 16:16.240

    And people start sharing about you.

    16:16.240 --> 16:17.660

    Again, it builds your authority.

    16:18.210 --> 16:22.490

    It shows that you're used across the internet, you're mentioned across the internet.

    16:22.880 --> 16:24.280

    Because each mentioned

    16:24.870 --> 16:28.090

    again, acts as another signal that your podcast, you...

    16:28.350 --> 16:34.890

    exist and are part of the broader conversation, right? So I want to talk about within this podcast directories. Okay.

    16:35.430 --> 16:37.830

    So I recently...

    16:37.990 --> 16:43.170

    went into, I was just supporting one of my clients. She has over 600 podcast episodes

    16:43.170 --> 16:47.130

    and I was on her backend hosting platform and we were like looking at some other stuff.

    16:47.130 --> 16:52.330

    And I went to the distribution, it's like a distribution or directories might be something

    16:52.330 --> 16:55.090

    else that it's called. And I said to her,

    16:55.620 --> 16:56.280

    Um,

    16:56.550 --> 16:59.990

    you actually haven't claimed your podcast on all of these things.

    17:00.740 --> 17:02.120

    all of these platforms yet.

    17:02.500 --> 17:05.180

    She was claimed on like Apple and Spotify and that's it.

    17:05.950 --> 17:06.230

    Bye.

    17:06.750 --> 17:12.080

    She was acclaimed on our radio, on Amazon Music, on Podchaser, Pocket Cast.

    17:13.060 --> 17:20.330

    It's so important that we don't just go to our podcast hosting and assume that we're going to be spit out everywhere.

    17:20.330 --> 17:21.180

    And we are.

    17:21.180 --> 17:25.800

    But when we can actually claim it and put an email to it, it gives it more credibility.

    17:25.800 --> 17:29.960

    And if you update things like your podcast description or your cover art...

    17:30.580 --> 17:33.150

    it's going to spit it out quicker and update it for you.

    17:33.150 --> 17:34.860

    So make sure...

    17:35.430 --> 17:36.250

    that you have

    17:36.600 --> 17:42.450

    claimed all the directories. You can do this in your podcast hosting platform. So look for directories or

    17:42.580 --> 17:44.840

    distribution, and you'll find it in there.

    17:45.990 --> 17:48.450

    Okay, number seven, this one is so important and it...

    17:48.640 --> 17:52.460

    It definitely kind of ties in with some that we've already talked about, but

    17:52.930 --> 17:55.070

    Use audience language in your content.

    17:55.580 --> 17:58.100

    Please use audience language in your content.

    17:58.530 --> 18:04.550

    Don't just assume you know this or assume you have the audience language in your head.

    18:05.030 --> 18:08.190

    You need to do a little bit of research to figure this out because we're

    18:08.710 --> 18:11.950

    When we use the exact language that our audience uses,

    18:12.480 --> 18:13.220

    AI loves it.

    18:13.670 --> 18:16.100

    That's the things that they're searching in AI.

    18:16.100 --> 18:18.250

    They are not being super formal in AI.

    18:18.250 --> 18:20.770

    They are throwing in the words that they would tell you,

    18:20.770 --> 18:23.430

    that they would say to you, the pain points, aspirations,

    18:23.650 --> 18:24.930

    All of that stuff.

    18:25.540 --> 18:26.780

    AI tools are...

    18:27.140 --> 18:32.330

    consistently and constantly matching questions with content that contains similar wording.

    18:32.990 --> 18:37.730

    So if your audience asks things like, how do I grow my podcast audience organically?

    18:38.400 --> 18:39.920

    Great, I'm going to use those words.

    18:40.130 --> 18:40.570

    Those words.

    18:41.250 --> 18:43.970

    Or if your audience is asking...

    18:44.340 --> 18:45.050

    Um,

    18:45.540 --> 18:48.500

    how do I regulate my nervous system

    18:49.630 --> 18:50.050

    for free.

    18:50.560 --> 18:52.850

    Like, these are the things we need to know, right?

    18:52.850 --> 18:58.500

    And what I'll say is the best way that you can learn this is to have the conversations

    18:58.500 --> 18:59.880

    with your ideal customer, right?

    18:59.880 --> 19:02.560

    Not text conversations, not typing conversations.

    19:02.560 --> 19:03.900

    Hear the words they're saying.

    19:03.900 --> 19:10.040

    So we do this through voice messages on Instagram and social platforms, jumping on a Zoom coffee

    19:10.040 --> 19:15.420

    with them, getting in person with them live, going to conferencing networking experiences,

    19:15.420 --> 19:17.780

    things like that, and asking the questions, right?

    19:17.780 --> 19:18.960

    Listening, listening.

    19:19.650 --> 19:25.770

    with listening so well with our entrepreneur ears to what they're saying. And then using those exact

    19:25.770 --> 19:30.690

    phrases in your episode titles, your show notes, your blog posts, your podcast descriptions.

    19:31.490 --> 19:33.250

    Any marketing material, really,

    19:34.180 --> 19:36.180

    it's gonna be huge for you, right?

    19:36.180 --> 19:38.610

    So when your content mirrors the language

    19:38.610 --> 19:40.160

    your audience is using,

    19:40.160 --> 19:43.560

    it becomes far more likely to match AI search queries

    19:43.710 --> 19:45.270

    then just

    19:45.470 --> 19:46.100

    Like,

    19:46.560 --> 19:47.400

    Self-led.

    19:47.680 --> 19:51.260

    content and self-led phrases and keywords. So, so important.

    19:52.450 --> 19:54.330

    I've talked about that a lot if you've been here, so...

    19:55.040 --> 19:56.110

    All right, number eight.

    19:56.670 --> 19:58.430

    So this is a good one.

    20:00.070 --> 20:04.080

    with a caveat. So repurpose your podcast content across platforms.

    20:04.960 --> 20:06.330

    Let's talk about this one.

    20:06.530 --> 20:10.770

    So repurposing your podcast content definitely helps with AI indexing.

    20:10.770 --> 20:15.860

    When your podcast appears in multiple formats, and I'll share what I mean here, it creates

    20:15.860 --> 20:17.710

    more entry points for discovery, right?

    20:17.710 --> 20:21.770

    So for example, maybe you have a blog post, you have a YouTube video, you have a LinkedIn

    20:21.770 --> 20:25.790

    post, a Pinterest pin, an email newsletter, things like that.

    20:26.100 --> 20:33.050

    Each piece of content reinforces the topic and points that points back to you, your podcast, your expertise, all of those things.

    20:33.050 --> 20:39.570

    And it really kind of creates a network of signals that helps AI understand that your content is about XYZ.

    20:40.190 --> 20:40.600

    So,

    20:40.900 --> 20:41.740

    That's great.

    20:42.180 --> 20:42.980

    However,

    20:43.300 --> 20:44.760

    I want to say that

    20:45.540 --> 20:48.240

    I don't want you to feel like you have to do this.

    20:48.550 --> 20:49.510

    right now.

    20:49.950 --> 20:53.530

    And it's the only way to get indexed by AI because...

    20:53.990 --> 20:59.250

    If you don't have the bandwidth, if you don't have the team, if you don't have the time and the capacity to...

    20:59.780 --> 21:01.350

    Do all of those platforms?

    21:01.670 --> 21:02.810

    you're gonna show up,

    21:03.460 --> 21:04.090

    It just...

    21:04.340 --> 21:10.030

    exhausted, right? Then you're going to give up. It's not worth it. If you have the support and if

    21:10.030 --> 21:15.630

    you have the time and the capacity, go for it. Yes, for sure. But I'd never, ever, ever want

    21:16.130 --> 21:20.890

    my students for sure, or anybody, really any podcaster to feel like you have to be everywhere

    21:20.890 --> 21:22.970

    and then you get burned down and then you give up.

    21:23.350 --> 21:25.180

    It's just not, it's not worth it.

    21:25.510 --> 21:26.070

    So,

    21:26.330 --> 21:30.300

    If you feel like, wow, that's a lot of places, you know, to show up.

    21:31.100 --> 21:31.990

    Pick one or two.

    21:32.230 --> 21:34.410

    Focus on those, become a master of those.

    21:35.170 --> 21:36.080

    Because,

    21:36.900 --> 21:41.500

    your content is going to look better because you have more time and more capacity to pour into that, right?

    21:42.660 --> 21:44.110

    And then with time, maybe you'll expand.

    21:44.110 --> 21:47.640

    Maybe you'll be able to grow a team, get a VA who can support you with those things.

    21:47.640 --> 21:52.020

    But don't feel like you have to just because I said it and because AI is, it's not the

    21:52.020 --> 21:54.280

    only way AI is going to index your content.

    21:54.280 --> 21:55.420

    So just hear me out on that.

    21:56.320 --> 21:59.520

    Okay, so number nine, this one is surprising, but...

    21:59.810 --> 22:00.490

    Let's talk about it.

    22:00.490 --> 22:02.750

    Encourage reviews and public mentions.

    22:02.750 --> 22:07.390

    Okay, so maybe it's not surprising, but you've heard me talk about reviews before, right?

    22:07.390 --> 22:12.290

    How do they necessarily grow the podcast or get you charting better?

    22:12.290 --> 22:13.110

    Not really.

    22:13.110 --> 22:14.090

    Not necessarily.

    22:14.090 --> 22:14.430

    Not necessarily.

    22:14.880 --> 22:15.120

    Bye.

    22:15.680 --> 22:19.940

    It's a new discovery that we're finding out that reviews are actually great for AI.

    22:19.940 --> 22:21.840

    AI likes to see their reviews.

    22:21.840 --> 22:26.380

    It likes to see that people are engaging, interacting, that we're getting five-star reviews.

    22:26.380 --> 22:27.680

    Hopefully not one-star reviews.

    22:27.680 --> 22:28.860

    I don't know that you'll get.

    22:29.380 --> 22:31.240

    recommended if that's the case, but

    22:32.130 --> 22:35.790

    We want to be using those to support discoverability, right?

    22:36.740 --> 22:38.000

    That's really exciting.

    22:38.590 --> 22:43.750

    So when people leave reviews for your podcast, they often include, again, keywords, descriptions

    22:43.750 --> 22:45.930

    that reinforce what your show talks about, right?

    22:45.930 --> 22:47.710

    So for instance...

    22:48.130 --> 22:50.490

    I definitely have seen reviews that say,

    22:50.750 --> 22:55.690

    this podcast helped me grow my email list directly from my podcast or something like that.

    22:55.690 --> 22:58.810

    Somebody else is giving keywords that I didn't even have to, right?

    22:58.810 --> 23:04.570

    So these words, again, going back to kind of that signal, give an additional signal to AI systems.

    23:04.570 --> 23:11.090

    And they also create great social proof, which increases the likelihood that your podcast will be recommended.

    23:11.810 --> 23:12.930

    Right?

    23:13.310 --> 23:18.410

    If you've been with me and you know that I've kind of been like, oh, I don't know, like there's a good place for them.

    23:19.650 --> 23:21.970

    I'm maybe switching my tone a little bit and that's okay.

    23:21.970 --> 23:22.570

    We can do that,

    23:22.570 --> 23:22.850

    right?

    23:22.850 --> 23:23.650

    That,

    23:24.000 --> 23:31.920

    Maybe there is a place for reviews and it is okay to ask for them and do maybe like a little marketing blitz to get them from time to time.

    23:32.320 --> 23:38.240

    All right. The last one is to treat your podcast like a knowledge resource. And I love this one. So

    23:38.590 --> 23:41.310

    This is definitely a little bit more of a mindset shift.

    23:42.210 --> 23:43.990

    The podcast that AI does

    23:44.160 --> 23:49.260

    is recommending most often are the ones that function like a knowledge base.

    23:49.470 --> 23:50.090

    4

    23:50.950 --> 23:52.070

    the ideal listener.

    23:52.290 --> 23:53.430

    Okay, meaning,

    23:53.760 --> 23:56.400

    They answer questions, they teach clear concepts,

    23:56.740 --> 23:58.340

    They provide useful frameworks.

    23:58.340 --> 23:59.760

    And so...

    24:00.290 --> 24:04.870

    When I say these things, maybe you're thinking, well, I have more of like a spirituality-based

    24:04.870 --> 24:05.070

    one.

    24:05.070 --> 24:05.890

    How do I do that?

    24:06.210 --> 24:08.670

    you still have that, you're still answering questions,

    24:08.670 --> 24:11.110

    you're still teaching concepts, you're still,

    24:11.110 --> 24:13.450

    technically you probably have frameworks,

    24:13.450 --> 24:16.250

    maybe you just don't have them fleshed out and put together.

    24:16.610 --> 24:17.210

    but you do.

    24:17.210 --> 24:19.810

    It does not matter if you have a

    24:19.970 --> 24:24.970

    podcast that's teaching very strategic business things or if you have more of a spirituality podcast

    24:25.700 --> 24:31.740

    When your podcast consistently solves real problems, it becomes a valuable source of

    24:31.740 --> 24:32.280

    information.

    24:32.280 --> 24:38.440

    And that's exactly the type of content AI systems are designed to recommend to surface,

    24:38.440 --> 24:38.740

    right?

    24:39.460 --> 24:44.180

    The clearer and more helpful your episodes are, the more likely they are to show up in recommendations.

    24:44.930 --> 24:45.750

    It's just how it works.

    24:46.110 --> 24:46.310

    Okay.

    24:47.200 --> 24:48.040

    All right, so in closing,

    24:48.800 --> 24:49.940

    AI Discoveries

    24:50.180 --> 24:56.220

    only going to grow. We know this, right? We can't even deny it. And more people are using tools like

    24:56.610 --> 25:01.690

    perplexity, clawed, Google's AI search results, voice search,

    25:02.210 --> 25:07.810

    to get recommendations. So that means podcast discovery is no longer limited to Apple and

    25:07.810 --> 25:09.510

    Spotify algorithms, right?

    25:10.270 --> 25:14.690

    which is exciting. Your podcast now lives in the broader ecosystem of the internet.

    25:14.850 --> 25:18.930

    So the more clear your content communicates what it's about, the easier it becomes for

    25:18.930 --> 25:22.450

    AI systems to understand, index, and then recommend it.

    25:23.360 --> 25:24.280

    So here's what I'll say.

    25:24.280 --> 25:29.260

    Even if you start implementing just a few of these strategies we talked about today, you'll be...

    25:29.510 --> 25:30.530

    in a position.

    25:30.720 --> 25:31.860

    to start getting your podcast.

    25:32.450 --> 25:36.450

    recommended, right? So it takes time. You don't have to do all of these things right now.

    25:36.450 --> 25:41.610

    Start chipping away, right? Start focusing on what you can and implement it. Okay, friend,

    25:41.610 --> 25:45.510

    if you love today's episode, which I had so much fun sharing this and teaching it,
